In 2022, Kering Eyewear unveiled the latest development in the Montblanc Absolute Comfort collection, a permanent range of optical frames developed around a specific concept: frames designed according to the measurements of each component of the frame and available in several sizes. In particular, it included rimless frames in round, rectangular, geometric and square shapes, designed to facilitate assembly and fitting. The company’s optical eyewear range is therefore not merely about aesthetics: the issue of fit is an integral part of product development.
Which type of prescription frame should you choose?
Montblanc prescription glasses are available in several different styles. Geometric models give the eyes a more graphic look, square and rectangular shapes offer a more structured silhouette, and round frames provide a different take on the design. However, the choice of shape is based on the actual dimensions of the model and how it fits the face. The same family of shapes can produce very different results depending on the width, height and construction of the frame: the shape provides guidance, it does not dictate.

The option to fit progressive lenses is not automatically available across the entire collection. Compatibility depends on the frame’s geometry, the available height, the position of the lens and the prescription itself. For a gradual adaptation, the choice is therefore determined by the specific model and the parameters of the prescription. This approach is preferable to a general rule that would set a minimum height or a shape that is systematically required for all frames.
Fine metal or acetate for all-day wear?
