The story
Olivia Balm — born from an inherited taste.
Olivia Balm was born from a passion for beautiful glasses — the ones you wear for a long time, sometimes pass on, and always choose with care. It was also born from an observation: in Lyon, few boutiques offered what we dreamed of wearing. Italian hand-crafted acetates, confidential designers, pieces that last.
Aude, a certified optician, searched for a long time for this boutique. Unable to find it, she created it. From frame selection to the design of the space, every detail was conceived to offer an experience opposite to the chains: time, advice, rare choices.
"Olivia" is an inherited middle name. "Balm", a discreet blend of our family names. Together they evoke the idea of a transmission — that of an Italian grandmother who would have passed on to her granddaughter the love of well-crafted glasses.

Can I order online and finalize in the boutique?
Yes. You can spot a frame online, then come to the boutique for the try-on, centering measurements and adjustments that are essential to lasting comfort.
Can I have an eye exam in the boutique?
We do not perform automated eye exams — these are the province of the ophthalmologist or orthoptist. However, on the basis of a valid prescription, we manually check your correction with trial lenses: our opticians vary the lenses to confirm that the prescribed correction still suits you. It is an important step before we mount your final lenses.
